Rehearsal in the Round

I can safely say that was the first time that I've done or seen that! One similar thing that I've done with my band students is to have them all sit in a different spot away from anyone from their section. That opened everyone's ears instantly!
Yeah, I've done the sitting in a different location thing, but never in a round. It was interesting to be able to hear other players, but actually found it difficult to hear myself.
It was an interesting evening! I could hear other players I didn't normally hear, plus I actually heard myself better! I liked playing every piece! Would you email me the name of the person playing the English (?) Horn, I don't have that listed on our program!
I could see the other players working hard, like the trombones! It sounded so nice, but blending in was different being on outside of the ensemble vs the inside... The sounds were not all around me, so it felt like I was playing louder.
